EA Strategy 2010-2015 by EA Secretariat The EA Strategy and Strategic Objectives for the years 2010-2015 have been approved by the EA General Assemblies in May and November 2011 respectively. Of prime importance is that EA increases its cooperation with the European Commission (EC) in particular. A strategic session of the EA Executive Committee elaborated on the implementation of the EA Strategy at the end of January 2012, and work will continue over the coming months.
The EA Advisory Board (EAAB) supported EA’s solid perspectives. The process was considered to be on the right track, and harmonization in accreditation in support of notification was highlighted as a key issue to be focussed on.
Enhancing the EA peer-evaluation system
The issue of enhancing the EA peer-evaluation system has figured high on the agenda of the EAAB since the adoption of Regulation (EC) 765/2008. This prominent position reflects the EAAB’s desire, as expressed in the expectations of the various stakeholder groups represented on the Board, to ensure and promote further the acceptance of and reliance on accreditation in particular by sectoral regulators.
